via IGMP routing. The TS may be Single Program or Multi Program
SD or HD. We merely transport the contents reliably and consistently.
Overview
The IP Caster was conceived many years ago at the request
of a Top 5 Router and Backbone Equipment vendor who needed
this product to help them deliver a comprehensive and reliable
DVB ASI end to end delivery system. It is designed to provide
broadcasters with the tool to deliver real time broadcast
quality MPEG-2 video and audio over copper or fiber optic
Broadband Backbones. Using our patent pending algorithms we
have solved problems in jitter management, RTP encapsulation,
and SNP management. We have designed around off the shelf
components rather than expensive ASICS and thus it is easily
modifiable and upgradeable. Since we use an industry standard
Dell server running Linux along with our industry standard
DVB Master III Rx you benefit from the economics of the computer
industry. Performance is not compromised in any way . This
product complies with all the applicable standards for DVB
ASI compatibility and comes with SNMP management MIBs so it
can be managed like any other network asset. We have been
tested against others in the industry and have won significant
"runoffs" . This type of product is generally tested
and evaluated before it is purchased so we offer "eval"
units quite readily. We are capable of encapsulating both
unicast or multicast protocols and thus are always evaluating
appropriate STB's that would be natural receivers in applications
where the solution calls for multicasting .
